A classic California Impressionist view of the Ojai Valley — thick, confident brushwork builds up rolling blue-green mountains under a soft daytime sky, with a golden hillside path and scrubby foreground brush leading the eye back toward a small distant homestead tucked in the trees. Dated March 1938 on the reverse. A lovely bit of local history, painted at a time when this valley was drawing plein air painters from all over the state. Presented in its original textured gold-tone frame.
