Tonala Burnished Blue Snail c.1940s M2039
Regular price
$250.00
A charming hand-modeled snail from Tonalá, Jalisco, in the region’s classic burnished pottery. The body is washed in layers of blue that shift to teal and green, with white painted flowers, leaves, and swirls across the shell and fine dotted detail along the neck and body. The head has a lot of personality, somewhere between a snail and a little bird.
The surface has the soft, worn patina that comes with age, with light wear to the paint and some small areas where the clay shows through.
