A wonderfully moody Southwestern still life, signed Larsen on the lower left. Though little is known about the artist, the work has a wonderful sense of place and character, capturing a collection of Native American objects with a distinct modernist eye.
The deep colors give the whole composition a theatrical quality, while the colorful geometric details on the textile carry through to the custom handmade frame by Mel Knowles. Dated 1936.
