Hatamen was a highly popular cigarette brand, primarily sold in China, and was one of British American Tobacco's (BAT) leading brands before the Communist Liberation in 1951. The brand is now associated with vintage Chinese advertising and collectible art, featuring popular advertisements that blend Chinese and Western Art Deco styles from the early 20th century, according to Pagoda Red. The Shanghai Tobacco Company took over BAT's assets in 1951, and the brand is still produced, though now a state-owned entity
