Danish Modern Model 596 Lounge Chair by Lawrence Peabody F2853

A handsome example of Mid-Century Modern design, this Model 596 Lounge Chair was designed by Lawrence Peabody and produced in Denmark by Selig in the 1950s.

Peabody was an American furniture designer known for his sculptural forms, refined proportions, and distinctly modern approach to traditional seating. The chair pairs a beautifully shaped dark wood frame with softly contoured arms and generous upholstered cushions, here retaining its original upholstery. Entirely original and unrestored, it remains in excellent condition—a particularly well-preserved example of Peabody's work.
