It might be too easy to read some kind of significance into the fact that these two images share a common board, but posing for an artist and seated meditation each pose not dissimilar obstacles to enlightenment, namely pain, and the impression of time slowing to a standstill. In any case, one gets two lovely studies for the price of one.
