Beautiful, colorful and strong Native American floral beadwork piece  15″ w x 9 1/2″ high framed. Gorgeous example of this type of beadwork.

From the tradition of the Metis women from the Great Lakes and Red River area of Manitoba. These women sewed moccasins, tobacco pouches, saddles, gloves and clothes decorated with bright colorful beads and silks, which caught the eye of travelers. These imaginative women would develop a distinctive floral design that would become the most widely used Metis style of the 19th century. Natives referred to them as the “Flower Beadwork People” because of this style
