Acoma Pueblo Owl Sculpture M1980

Regular price $600.00

A charming early 20th-century Acoma Pueblo owl effigy, hand-formed from native clay and finished in a traditional white slip with finely painted black geometric patterning. Unsigned.

Dating to the 1930s, this sculptural vessel reflects the long-standing Acoma tradition of thin-walled pottery adorned with rhythmic, repeating designs inspired by nature and ancestral motifs.

The stylized owl—an enduring symbol within Pueblo art—features incised feathering and expressive form, balancing utility and artistry. A warm, tactile example of Southwestern Native American ceramics, created using time-honored coiling and open-fire firing techniques.
