Measures 17 1/4" x 13", frame is 19 1/2" x 15 1/2". Signed Behné. Exhibited at the Pasadena Museum of Natural History.

Born in Indiana, Zetta Behné was already making a living as an artist by 1892 before she graduated from the Los Angeles School of Art and Design in 1895. She would in the course of her life sign her work in many variations using her maiden name Behné and adding the Richardson after her marriage to AO Richardson in 1894. A great practitioner of the Southern Californian genre of landscape painting she also worked in ceramics and exhibited often in the Los Angeles area.
