Circa 1950s Mexican hand-carved wooden skeleton festival mask, likely created for Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) celebrations or regional folk dance traditions.
The mask features a stylized skull form with exaggerated teeth, hollow eyes, and hand-painted red and black accents over a white gesso surface. Carved from lightweight wood and retaining visible signs of age and use, including surface wear, paint loss, and patina consistent with mid-20th-century folk art. Approximate date: mid-20th century, circa 1950s.
