Painted on tin. Measures 5 5/8" x 8 1/8". There seems to be a family gathered around a sick-bed. The woman in red is praying to the Virgin to intercede. What makes these often very crudely painted scenes so compelling is their verifiable humanity, the deep feeling they convey: every one of these tells a real story about the suffering of real people.
