Limbert Copper Top Round Side Table from the Hotel McAlpin NYC c 1912 F2587

Regular price $900.00

Measures 24" x 18" x 18". A rare commercial design from the fabled arts & crafts designer, Charles Limbert, for the Hotel McAlpin in NY. Which still stands. Which, when it opened in 1912, was the largest hotel in the world. The New York Times commented that it was so tall at 25 floors that it "seems isolated from other buildings." With a staff of 1,500 it could accommodate 2,500 guests. We append this link to its fascinating history. https://famoushotels.org/news/us-ny-the-mcalpin-hotel-history
