Lamosa is an acronym for Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. (La mo sa). The company started as a brick maker in 1890, but changed its name to Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. in 1929. Some of the same artists that worked there also worked at San Jose Pottery.
