19th Century Solid Oak Linenfold Trunk F2829
A substantial oak trunk with the deep, honest patina that only a century and a half of use can give.
The front is divided into linenfold-style panels, interspersed with two figural panels carved with small robed figures standing beneath arched canopies. The lid carries the same fluted, linenfold treatment across its five sections, and a carved heart-shaped escutcheon frames the original iron keyhole, a lovely small detail on an otherwise architectural piece.
Constructed of solid oak on a simple plinth base, it has real weight and presence, the kind of piece built to be a workhorse for generations. The wood shows honest wear and age throughout, consistent with its history.
