Original Porcelain Street Sign 1930s – Benedict Canyon Dr, Los Angeles A3403

Regular price $750.00

Authentic street sign from Benedict Canyon Dr in the city of Los Angeles. While the exact age is uncertain, the heavy porcelain enamel finish and distinctive “shotgun” style—with its rounded ends and white-on-blue lettering—are strong indicators that it dates to the early 1930s.

During this period, Los Angeles street signs were made using durable porcelain enamel over steel, designed to withstand the elements and remain highly visible. The “shotgun” style was among the earliest standardized formats used by the city, eventually phased out by the late 1940s in favor of more modern aluminum signage.

This sign is a rare and striking piece of Southern California history—ideal for collectors of vintage Americana, transportation memorabilia, or early Los Angeles artifacts.
