We actually need to roll credits on this treasure. Here goes: H.W. Blachford owned both the hat and the box (a brass plate is engraved with his name), the box was made by W. Clark of 93 Piccadilly, and Lincoln Bennett & Co of Sackville St, Piccadilly and Brown Muff & Co Bradford collaborated on the hat. The mind boggles a bit at all that.
And now we know why they call it a high hat.
