Huntsman and his Huntswoman Seeking Shelter in a Snowstorm: Romantic Pochoir - Boudoir Art 1920s

Regular price $350.00

These adorable riders have lost their horses somehow but since this is a fantasy we're sure nothing bad happened to them. This elegant couple is not really cold but it's an excuse for him to hold her close. And it looks like they may have to spend the night together in that nice peasant's cozy cottage. But that's okay... it's the 18th century!

A quintessential boudoir art scenario beautifully executed and a wonderful example of the art of the pochoir. We wish we could decipher the marvelous signature but the best we can do is Gaston as the first name, while the last name is a wild concoction of Ys and an X and some kind of double M. But the man is a master of the genre.

Art measures 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" and the frame is 11" x 11'.

French pochoir prints from the glorious Art Deco era present women’s fashion designs in their most original era. Chosen from the period 1924 to 1931, this clothing was revolutionary and has been the epitome of haute couture designers ever since. The most famous clothing designers of the time are represented abundantly, including Charles Worth, Jean Patou, Paul Poiret, Lucien Lelong, Joseph Paquin and many others. The hand printed illustrations are each little masterpieces, often admired and collected themselves for their fine details and originality.
