Original Monterey Cabinet on Stand in Straw Ivory F2841
A striking example of Monterey decorated "Old Mexico" line, this two-door cabinet sits atop a base of bobbin-turned legs joined by an H-stretcher. Pure early California craftsmanship with a Spanish Colonial spirit. Circa 1930s.
The doors are hand-painted with climbing floral vines in red, blue, and green, framed by hand-forged iron strap hinges and a working iron latch with ring pulls. Below, a single drawer with its original iron handle completes the piece. The soft, sun-warmed patina of the wood plays beautifully against the painted decoration, and the whole piece has the kind of honest wear that comes from decades of real use rather than age for age's sake. A wonderful accent piece for storage with genuine character — would be fabulous for an entry cabinet or a small bar.
