It's like a small city on another planet with its proliferation of chimney necks growing out of its conglomeration of perforated spherical spaces, almost like dwellings. A bold and glorious piece of modernist mid-century ceramic art. Fantastic play with the glazing, almost imperceptible veins of sky blue trickling down the browns and creams. And it is quite heavy. We are trying to decipher the signature incised into its base. We can tell that it is by a mid-century master, that is clear enough.
Measures 19 3/4" tall x 12" wide x 9" deep. Some barely perceptible cracks, probably from the firing, no repairs.
