Thomas Hill McKay was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 3, 1874.  McKay studied art in Glasgow.  He exhibited at the Glasgow Art Institute, the Scottish Academy, and the Royal Academy in London before immigrating to Los Angeles in 1923.  He was active in the local art scene until his death there on March 18, 1941.  His rare works include landscapes, marines, and scenes of Scotland.
