Ink Blue Bauer Vase B3319
This ink blue ceramic vase was produced by Bauer Pottery in the early 1920s, during the company’s formative period of American art pottery production. The vase features a classic baluster form with a rounded shoulder, gently tapered body, and flared foot—an elegant, well-balanced silhouette characteristic of early Bauer designs.
Finished in Bauer’s rich ink blue glaze, the surface shows a deep cobalt tone with a high-gloss finish, prized for its depth and luminous quality. Dark blue glazes were especially popular in the 1910s–1920s, reflecting the era’s preference for bold, saturated ceramic colors.
A strong example of early California pottery, this vase showcases Bauer’s early craftsmanship, weight, and refined form, making it equally suited as a decorative object or functional flower vase.
