 A beautifully detailed cityscape of older, slower Los Angeles, a street in a quiet old neighborhood in the shadow of downtown, a real time capsule of a painting.

Art measures 25 1/4" x 30 1/4", frame 34" x 38".

Born in Basel, Switzerland on Jan. 19, 1904.  By the late 1930s  Werner Seeholzer was active in California as an employee of the WPA.   His representational works include urban scenes of Los Angeles and San Francisco.  He seldom exhibited or promoted his paintings.   He died in San Francisco on March 30, 1978.
