This block print is a departure for Prescott Chaplin in that it’s not a Mexican and or Spanish scenes. Instead it depicts a rather lovely view of of a harbor and ships. Titled on the bottom and signed by Chaplin to the right. Also hand colored by Chaplin in his trademark colors. Image is 9 x 14. Framed and matted by us it measures 21 x 25.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 10, 1897, Chaplin studied with Bellows, Chase and Max Bori at the CSFA.  He was active in Los Angeles from the 1930s until his death on May 20, 1968.  Member:Chicago Gallery of Artists; Santa Barbara AA; Int’l Print Guild.
