Born in San Francisco, CA of Norwegian parents on Nov. 11, 1883. While in his teens Bryn studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. By 1902 he was working in the art department of the San Francisco Chronicle. He contributed illustrations to Sunset magazine and in 1913 moved to Los Angeles as a poster artist for the Santa Fe Railway. He continued working for the Santa Fe after moving to their headquarters in Chicago in 1915. While there he also worked for Marshall Field and for many years was art director for Erwin Wasey Company. Upon retiring in 1950, he returned to California and lived in Sebastopol until his demise on May 3, 1967. Exh: Newspaper Artists (SF), 1903 (drawings); Press Artists Ass'n (LA), 1906 (watercolors).
