A beautiful painting of two bridges, a footbridge and a drawbridge, at the Quai de la Marne (named after France’s longest river) spanning the canal de l’Ourcq in Paris, France. The Quai de la Marne is situated in the 17th arrondissement, a part of Paris that was once a working class and manufacturing neighborhood. The canal was originally dug to bring drinking water to Paris but is now only used for navigation. Painted in 1962 by Mentor Huebner.
