When Red met Green...

 Yes, ‘tis the season. In all its meanings. But let’s just take a moment to rejoice in how wonderful these two complementary colors are together. And apart. But why Christmas?   Blame 19th Century cartoonist Thomas Nast for dressing Santa in red, (and sometimes green… he wavered), and Haddon Sundblom for making the red decisive by linking Mr Claus forever to his client Coca-Cola. So the tree and the holly and the mistletoe got the green. And the tree got the bling.

 Here in California of course we have a thriving population of Santas: Santa Cruz, Santa Maria, Santa Monica and Santa Barbara (our favorite!), and thus we are, in honor of the holidays, proud to present our best reds and most gorgeous greens (and some bling too) in our very own Early California Style…
