Acoma Pottery Olla Pot A2607
This lovely piece was acquired from the Sacramento Estate. Meaures 8" x 12" x 12".
I would date this to the 1930's, 40's. It is hand marked Acoma.
Near perfect condition with minor areas of wear as shown.
The pottery of Acoma, aside from its prized artistic value, was originally functional. Pottery provided storage, cooking, and eating. Water jugs were used by the men of Acoma for long hunting trips or camping. Other pots were used as seed pots to store seeds for planting in the coming years.
