The hunter Actaeon accidentally stumbled across the goddess Artemis (Diana) bathing. Greatly affronted, she turned him into a stag and set her hunters on HIM. A favorite theme in art, we find it repeated here in this beautifully modeled solid bronze statue. It has no base. It measures 10" x 8 1/2" x 3 1/4".
