The Hunter and the Leopard c 1900 Oil on Board P2673
A wonderfully romantic painting of a dramatic and bloody scene. A leopard lies dying next to the body of a man he has killed in the struggle, while the surviving hunter, wounded, leans back against the trunk of a tree. We wish we could decipher the signature or note on the back written in a fine hand. This is narrative painting at its most engaging.
The board measures 9 1/4" x 12" and the frame is 14 1/4" x 17 1/4".
